Signed presentation from Saroyan, to Paul Bowles, on the half-title page: "For Paul Bowles, with many thanks and much admiration for his music, especially that part of it which does so much for `My Heart's in the Highlands.' Sincerely, William Saroyan, N.Y., April 15, 1939." Kherdian lists the publication date for this title as April 17. Bowles had composed the music for Saroyan's play "My Heart's In The Highlands," which had its first performance at the New York Guild Theatre on April 13, 1939- only two days prior to the date in this presentation.
