Quarto,(approx. 9 1/4" wide by 12 1/4" tall) black leatherette covers, 71 [1] pages. Color photo reproductions. Signed by both authors on the title page. Former owner name on front free endpaper. Book and dust jacket are in near fine condition. "In 1953, while on a hunting trip to the Pecos River, he (Jim Zintgraff) first saw the ancient pictographs that were to become his life's work. Little did he know he would spend the rest of his life on the track of the elusive rock art hidden in the deep canyons and dry rock shelters of the Lower Pecos River region, photographing thousands of images in hundreds of sites in Texas and Mexico." Established in 1984, Alkahest Bookshop took over the space and stock of the Atheneum Bookstore on Central St. in Evanston, IL.
