PIEDMONT. Flight of the Pacemaker. ( Signed )

A fast-paced and highly-entertaining pictorial history of Piedmont Aviation. This coffee table size book documents the airline's growth from a struggling local service airline to one of the nation's leading carriers with international routes. The DVD highlights Tom Davis, the company's founder, and the airline's growth. In today's age of economic globalization and outsourcing, corporate downsizing and layoffs, benefit reductions, "cooked" books and corporate fraud, this book is a must-have for historians, aviation buffs, corporate leaders, and business students.

Frank Elliott s appreciation of Piedmont Airlines began during the 1970s when it was his airline of choice as a journalist based in Washington, D.C. A veteran writer for magazines, newspapers and television, he has written about a variety of topics, including health-care reform, naval affairs, landfills, amusement parks and North Carolina s mountains. For public television, he has written and produced documentaries about the quality movement in government, the Governor s School of North Carolina, the Yadkin River and Smith Reynolds Airport, where Piedmont was born. Elliott s familiarity with the airline increased while working on "Chasing the Clouds", the Winston-Salem, NC airport documentary, a project led him to write Piedmont: Flight of the Pacemaker.
