Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket. Summarized upon the front flap as: "the haunting personal account of a Methodist minister who served large city churches for thirty years and then chose to become chaplain to the human wrecks of the notoriously famous Parchman Prison, Mississippi's State Penitentiary. It is also the story of the constricting spiritual oppression that is the real retribution of the prisoner who cannot escape the hot tortures of his twisted mind, bent on absolving itself of any real guilt." The book's inscribee is Reverend Richard Asa Bolling (1890-1971) who served as pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Mississippi from 1926 to 1962.
