About this Item
Near Fine. Menlo Park, CA: Lane Magazine & Book Co., 1967. Stated First Edition/first printing (see scan), illustrated by Gordon Brusstar. Near Fine. Presentation copy, signed and warmly inscribed by the SUBJECT, Pat Patterson, to Kent Dyson, in which inscription Patterson recalls his time at Wells Fargo, with Dyson and another, as being the most important memories of his life. Quarto, 160 pp. including index. Light dust and edgewear, else near fine. See scans. A handsome copy now in protective mylar. Biographical treatment of an icon in aviation history, William Allan "Pat" Patterson, who led United Air Lines to passenger air service primacy in the United States by the time of his retirement in 1966. Particularly interesting copy as well in that the biography begins with an anecdote, on the first page, about a young, low-rung bank manager at Wells Fargo - Patterson, in the early days - and the inscription is itself about those times.
