A very scarce volume containing six lectures by Edward Tucker Leeke, given at Cambridge, signed by the author. The first edition of this very scarce work.Signed by the author to the verso of the front endpaper, "S. Siddall, with best wishes from E. T. L., Lincoln, July 12, 1900".A series of six lectures given by the Reverend Edward Tucker Leeke at the Divinity Schools in Cambridge. The addresses are titled 'Ourselves', 'Our People', 'Our Work: Day and Evening Schools', 'Our Work: Classes and Sermons', 'Our Work: Sick Visiting', and 'Our Work: The Gaol - The Workhouse - The Hospital'.Leeke was Canon and sub-dean of Lincoln Cathedral.Six pages of adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine is faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few light marks to the cloth. Author's name to the tail of the front board is a little misprinted. Front hinge is starting but firm. Author's inscription to the verso of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good.…
