About this Item
A signed copy of this discussion of the qualities of successful parish priest by one of the most prominent leaders of the Catholic Church in England in the 20th century. Father Heenan served as Bishop of Leeds, Archbishop of Liverpool, Archbishop of Westminster and as a church Cardinal during the course of this career. He became a familiar figure national in England during the 1940s and 1950s via radio broadcasts on the BBC. He also participated the Second Vatican Council. Signed by Father Heenan with his then-title Bishop of Leeds on the front endpaper. Cloth, 243 pages. Has significant residue at the edges of the cover and on endpapers from an old dust jacket protector. While effectively protecting the dust jacket, the dubiously designed protector was made with a gummy material in the folds that over time bled on the covers. Otherwise has minimal signs of use.
