My favorite of all of the stories is one written specifically for this collection. Perchance to Dream is a tale set in the world of the DragonCrown War novels. Unlike Perchance to Dream, the majority of the stories are standalone and a few have a rather dark and gritty tone. The Krells of Tancras Moor is one such example, with the protagonist a great man brought low by magic and on a quest for vengeance upon the magic-wielders. Blood Duty is another shadowy tale that, in a few short pages, packs an emotional punch.

Humor also plays a large role in many of the stories, either through the wit of the characters or the ingeniousness of the tale itself. Absolutely Charming is black humor at its very best as the author takes a jab at the publishing world.
