First edition. Quarto. [64]pp. printed on rectos only. Illustrated in color, by Harrie Wood. Pictorial paper-covered boards. Two corners are very slightly bumped else a fine bright copy in very good or better dust jacket slightly tanned on spine and a few short archivally internally mended tears. A collection of limericks, each one accompanied by a full page drawing in color. Inscribed by Marni Wood on the front flyleaf: "For Ida and Nelson, from Marie and Harrie" the inscription continues in pencil in the lower margin: "P.S. It is really David who likes this tome + so he is sending it to Henry Charles with his compliments. M." The David mentioned in the inscription is the son of Marni and Harrie Wood; the recipient Nelson is Nelson White, the son of the painter Harry C. White. A scarce title with a nice association.
