Signed by the author with an inscription to Scottish journalist and politician Roderick MacFarquhar, dated 14th February 1963.Selection of poetry from Scottish poet George Dickson, featuring the modern epic "The Plain Story of Peter Rae" in four parts. "Peter Rae" tells the story of an ex-serviceman following the First World War. As the dust-wrapper blurb reads, this paints a vivid picture of "the typical young man of to-day and his attitude to the world in general". In publisher's original quarter-cloth binding. With unclipped dust wrapper. Presentation copy. Signed by the author with an inscription to the front free endpaper, dated 14th February 1963. Externally, smart with slight bumping and marking. Dust wrapper reinforced in archival binding. Featuring the odd mark, tide mark and more noticeable discolouration. Internally, generally firmly bound. Binding tender in places, for example to pages 16 to 17 and 48 to 49. Pages bright and clean with the exception of minor spotting to the first and last few pages. Very Good.
