First edition and first printing. Hardcover. 80 pages. Levine's second book and first to be published by a major publisher. A clean near fine copy in gray cloth boards with some toning to the gutters of the endpapers and in a very good plus dust jacket with some light edge wear. Signed and very warmly inscribed by Levine on the front free endpaper: "To Mike & Shirley, Seconds may be passing from life but some marvelous people are coming in to it. I mean you! Love, Phil." A terrific association copy as the recipients were fellow poet Michael Harper and his wife Shirley.

Books are subject to prior sale.
Libraries, institutions, and accredited dealers in the United States can be sent books with invoice.
All books noted as First Editions are also First Printings unless indicated otherwise. Books are returnable for any reason within 30 days of the estimated delivery date provided they are returned in the same condition they were sent. Illinois residents please add 7.00% sales tax.

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 3 LB, or 1.4 KG. However, larger or heavier books or multi-volume sets will require additional postage. We will contact you if additional postage is required.
We ship all books in sturdy boxes or in stiff cardboard mailers.
