Fine in a fine, unclipped dust jacket ($4.50). Laid in is a black-and-white publicity photograph of Valentine by Jill Krementz. Octavo, 46 pages. Bound in oatmeal cloth stamped in brown on the front board and black on spine. The poet s second collection, Pilgrims follows her Yale Younger Poets debut and confirms the meditative lyricism that would define her career. Valentine later won the National Book Award for Door in the Mountain and served as New York State Poet.
