The original publisher's galley proof of Part Three of King's rare unfinished epistolary novel, initially published in parts and sent to his close friends in lieu of Christmas cards. Folded, the proof measures 60 inches by 19 inches with a typed note from King's publisher on the title page and King's inscription, "copy-edit complete. Steve King/." With King's annotations and edits throughout. In near fine condition. Exceptionally rare, a highly desirable rarity for the King collector. "On June 7, 2000, King posted a letter on his official Web site soliciting opinions from his 'Constant Readers' as to whether or not he should publish The Plant.The first installment was posted in early July and monthly installments continued through December, at which point King declared that the six installments published comprised the first part of the novel and that that section was called 'Zenith Rising'" (Spignesi: The Essential Stephen King 177). King wrote a few parts of The Plant and sent them out as chapbooks to his friends, instead of Christmas cards, in 1982, 1983, and 1985.
