First edition of the author's first book of verse, preceded only by his 1952 critical text 'Purity of Diction in English Verse'. Designed and printed by Oscar Mellor, and edited by Mellor and George MacBeth. This copy signed by Oscar Mellor beneath his printed name on the rear wrapper and with 'File Copy' inkstamped to the base of the front wrapper. Demi 8vo. Six pages of printed text comprising the following poems: 'Homage to William Cowper', 'As Far as the Eye Can See', 'On Bertrand Russell's "Portraits from Memory"', 'The Evangelist', 'Bathing Huts' and 'At Knaresborough'. Stapled wrappers. Very good indeed. The nineteenth issue of this influential series "designed to feature the work of young poets in England today".
