1st Edition 1945. Full dark blue crushed morocco. No. 82 of a limited edition of 110 copies only; SIGNED by Siegfried Sassoon who wrote the introduction. Mounted on the upper cover is a portion of the silk ribbon from the Italy Star medal, a military campaign medal awarded to subjects of the British Commonwealth who served in the Italian Campaign from 1943-1945. The volume contains 72 poems by 47 writers. They were among 596 entries submitted in poetry competitions, all written in Italy (including Sicily) during the first nine months of the campaign. Book is very good and bright. Lightly marked boards. Light edge rubbing. Contents good. More images can be taken upon request. Ref18263.
