Add to basketSIGNED by George Rylands (1902-1999) on the limitation page, one of 350 signed and numbered copies. This slender volume of 10 poems is an early printing, signified by the comma instead of a period in Leonard Woolf's initial on the title page ( printed as L, & V. Woolf). Woolmer 269 (J. Howard Woolmer, A Checklist of The Hogarth Press, 1917-1946, Woolmer/Brotherson Ltd., Revere, Pennsylvania, 1986).Rylands worked for a while as the Woolfs' assistant; they published two volumes of his poetry: Russet and Taffeta (1925) and then the present volume in 1931. Rylands, known to everyone as Dadie, was also a Shakespeare scholar and theatre director. PHYSICAL DETAILS: 12mo (7 x 4 1/2 inches; 178 x 114 mm), [20] pages, in light green paper boards, dark green and brown herringbone design, white paper label lettered in black to front cover (hard cover). The herringbone design runs horizontally; some other copies have a vertical design. CONDITION: Sunning to spine and edges, small tear to spine at heel, tear to front paste down, a few nicks and small tears to the top of some leaves, light toning to pages, front hinge starting but holding, small bookseller label to rear paste down. A Good copy.
