Two Volumes. 279, 302, xii pages. Hardcovers bound in original calf. The bindings show some rubbing and wear. The bindings are sound. The hinges to Volume II are starting to crack. There is some damping to the binding of Volume I which also affects the title page and some of the text. Contents are browned. First state with page 269 of Volume II misprinted as 239. Signed Harriet Gaillard and dated 1810 at the top of each title page. Complete with both copperplate engraved frontispieces. The frontis in Volume I is of an Indian Chief (from "The Prophecy of King Tammany). The frontis in Volume II shows a naval battle between two tall ships, being the victory of John Paul Jones. Housed in a custom-made leather-backed clamshell box. The clamshell box shows some spotting. A decent set. Seller Inventory # 100305
