One of a limited edition of five hundred copies: of which twenty copies have been printed on Annam mulberry paper and numbered 1 to 20; four hundred and fifty copies have been printed on pure wove paper and numbered 21 to 470; in addition, there are twenty-five reserved copies, including five on Annam mulberry paper, numbered from I to V, and twenty copies printed on pure wove paper, numbered from VI to XXV; this copy printed on pure wove paper and un-numbered. Bound by Courty in full leather, with author and title between upper and lower double raised bands, decorations on head and tail and raised bands in gilt, top edge gilt, head and tail bands. Original wrappers bound in. Fine copy attractively bound.

Note: Pompes fun�bres (Funeral Rites) is a 1947 novel by Jean Genet. It is a story of love and betrayal across political divides, written for his lover, Jean Decarnin, killed by the Germans in World War II.
