Second Edition (6),239 pp. Small octavo (approximately 19.5cm tall) in original green cloth with titles in black on spine and decorative endpapers with illustrations (including frontispiece) by C. F. Tunnicliffe. Original decorative dust wrapper which only has minor wear to the top and bottom of the spine. A much superior copy in the scarce dust wrapper. Cave A10. 2nd State. The first edition that includes Tunnicliffe's illustrations. This copy if boldly signed by Haig-Brown on the half title and below that a nice inscription "For Tommy and Becky New Year 1943 (Replacement only) Roddy HB. A wonderful association copy from RHB to his great friend Tommy Brayshaw. I sold this copy to my client over 25 years ago and have only bought it back from his estate.
