Internationally acclaimed photographer Curt Richter was initially commissioned by Louis D. Rubin, Jr., to photograph the founding members of the Fellowship of Southern Writers. The first author to sit for him for the series was Eudora Welty and the last was Alice Walker. The project grew and, over a seven-year period, he photographed over two hundred writers associated with the South. Nearly one hundred of these images appear in A Portrait of Southern Writers, beyond any doubt the most stunning and significant collection of photographs of Southern writers ever gathered.

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Our $10 rate is for UPS or Priority Mail. Our $5.50 rate is media mail which can take a week or two, or a month or two (rarely, but has happened). We email tracking information for all domestic shipments. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
