[viii] pages. Preface to Jessie Conrad's cook book, published privately prior to the release of the cook book. Limited to 100 copies, signed and numbered on the title page by Joseph Conrad, who wrote the preface. This copy number 13. Moderate browning to the exposed pages; otherwise in near fine condition. Protected in a period custom enclosure, onto which the engraved bookplate of industrialist, book collector and former trustee of the Newberry Library John A. Spoor (1851-1926) affixed neatly to the inside of the front cover.
