8vo. 163 pp. [8 pp ads]. Half navy morocco over light blue cloth, rebound with newer endpapers. Gilt titling to spine and top edge. Leather rubbed, with heavy scuffing to front lower fore corner. Cloth somewhat faded, endpapers faintly discolored. Ink name of previous owner (Lavinia Austin Avery) to recto of frontis leaf, verso signed in brown ink by Charles Dana Gibson beneath illustration of title character. Title page signed by author in brown ink. Text block clean, tight, and sturdy.
