Quarto. 282 pages, some unopened. 32 heliogravure illustrated plates and numerous in-text illustrations. French language text. One of fifty copies printed on Lafuma paper with (loosely translated) "The first forty reserved for the review at the water s edge". This copy unnumbered. Bound in tan stiff paper wrappers with swimming fish illustration and black lettering on front cover, black lettering on spine. House in a blue cloth covered chemise and slipcase, black leather label with gold lettering on spine. Inscribed on half-title from the author to A.J. McClane, author of the acclaimed "McClanes Standard Fishing Encyclopedia International Angling Guide" (1965). McClane s "Field & Stream" business card laid in covers identifying him as contributing editor to the magazine. McClane along with Ritz and Ernest Hemingway were the founders of the Fario Club, an elite fishing society. (Sports Illustrated, October 29,1990) . Wrappers edge worn with paper chips and small edge tears, foxed and toned, staining on rear wrap; spine chipped at ends, vertical creases, three pieces of darkened cellophane tape on spine support front and rear wrap; moderate foxing throughout pages and plates, several pages with rough opened edges, occasional finger smudges in margins, water stain on rear wrap affecting the outer margin of last few pages.
