Signed and inscribed by author on front endpaper. First edition. Hard cover published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1943. Blue covers with gilt lettering and design on spine and a blindstamped design on front. Ends of spine are worn some and have some fraying, and corners of covers are bumped and worn, with some fraying. Covers have some edge wear. Inside front cover has the name and address of a prior owner (the person to whom the book was inscribed). Foldout map of the Hong Kong area is attached to the verso of the front endpaper. Book is in good condition. Dust jacket is in a protective mylar cover, and is missing upper third and part of the bottom of the spine. Spine and edges of covers are tanned, and corners of DJ are worn and torn, with some missing pieces. DJ is in acceptable condition. 8vo, 309 pages, 1.1 lb.; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 309 pages; Signed by Author.
