His life was extraordinarily wide ranging-though primarily a landscape painter, his studies of old Dublin buildings and streetscapes are of particular interest. He was also an apprentice hatter, a taxidermist, and a professional singer. Illustrated with a wide selection of his work, this absorbing biography illuminates the diversity of his life and times with material found nowhere else.

About the Author

Gordon T. Ledbetter from Dublin is author of seven books including The Great Irish Tenor, a biography of John McCormack (1884-1945). He wrote and presented an acclaimed DVD documentary The People's Tenor (Zampano Productions), and has broadcast and lectured extensively.
