The half-title page has an inscription from the author, with a date in 1989, and signed by him. 24 chapters, each with the portrait of a fisherman at the chapter's head; footnotes; 5 color illustrations on plates; a section of small, b/w photos and a few other illustrations; appendices; bib.; index. The back board's bottom, front corner is bumped, leaving a 7/8 in. x 1/2 in. bumpy spot. That board's bottom edge has light foxing. DJ: Price clipped. The spine panel has darkened in a mottled fashion. The top ends of the spine panel and the flaps' folds have small chips and tears. The bottom ends are much less so.
