About this Item
Scarce paperback, no ISBN, 254 pages, NOT ex-library. Title page signed and inscribed by the Author (there is also a 3-page handwritten letter by Author - in Polish - laid in). Small marks from handling, interior remains clean with unmarked text, firmly bound. Faint grubby marks on the covers; dusty marks on outer page edges. Spine is sunned and creased with some cosmetic surface tearing. -- This book is about a number of present-day Jeremiahs, some of whom have also gone through the hell of the so-called Holocaust, in which the Germans murdered six million Jewish men, women, and children. This book does not deal primarily with this most bloody drama, but rather with the way the six million murdered innocent are being used by a group of conscience-deprived individuals (Jewish individuals, unfortunately) and how they have transformed this nightmarish tragedy into a profitable, vulgar industry: using the excuse of mourning the dead, they organize revolting 'Holocaust Banquets' where the mourners are advised to wear tuxedos and, between speeches about the death camps of Treblinka and Auschwitz, are treated to lavish seven-course dinners as they dance to live orchestras. While there are among them honest people who devote their lives to these activities, most are unaware of how they are manipulated by the builders of of the 'Holocaust Memorials', which now number in the dozens; by the handsomely paid artists, by the committee leaders with their huge salaries, luxurious offices, and well oiled publicity machines - all paid for by tax-deductible contributions. This is the autobiographical story on the author himself, consisting of three parts. The first relates how he smuggled himself from Nazi occupied Warsaw to Soviet-"liberated" Bialystok, then to Wilno in Lithuania, and from there to Moscow, Vladivostok, Japan, Australia, and - after World War II - to France. The second part takes place in Paris where he meets hundreds of "survivors" of the Nazi death camps and struggles desperately to find a reason to continue living. The third part deals with the author's life in New York and his shocking encounters with the "Holocaust Industry". As the author, Abraham Shulman, notes, "I only give the names of those few who deserve to have their name mentioned. As for the others, I left them under the collective name of 'prosperous Jeremiahs.". Seller Inventory # 009023
