About this Item
First edition, first printing. SIGNED to title-page. An especially appealing copy that is, additionally, pre-publication dated ("27/8/19" and with "Oxford" added below) by the author, which makes it both special and scarce. The official release date for Rushdie's Booker shortlisted book would follow a couple of days later, on August 29th, but a small number of copies were signed & dated in this manner at Philip Pullman's old haunt, The Sheldonian Theatre, in the heart of Oxford, just a little prior to release; a copy of the e-ticket is loosely inserted here. Rushdie's frisky rewrite of "Don Quixote", "Quichotte" effectively translates La Mancha into Trumpland where "visions and other phantasmagoria are to be expected." Very Fine in dust-wrapper.
