Standard paperback size. 211 pp. Inscribed by the author to writer Stephen Pritchett Canberra 1994. Illustrated covers with some creasing along the spine junction and light wear generally. The text block is a little toned at the edges. A couple of pages in the prelims have very small flattened creasing. Overall, the book is in very good condition.

The book won the 1993 Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize. Selection of six black satirical short stories listed in the seller images. Cover artwork by Marina Ming Cheung. Acerbic and bizarre, the stories explore the instability of sanity and reality, challenging traditional notions of mental health.

About the Author

Will Self is the author of four collections of short stories (the first of which, The Quantity Theory of Insanity, won the 1992 Geoffrey Faber Memorial Award), five novels (of which How the Dead Live was shortlisted for the Whitbread Novel of the Year in 2002), and four non-fiction works. He is a regular broadcaster on television and radio and as a journalist a contributor to a plethora of publications. He lives in London with his wife and four children.
