Reprint & First Edition. Three volumes. Octavo. Original blue cloth with gilt and red lettering on the spine. Original decorative dustwrappers. Half-titles. Illustrated with numerous plates (both sides) from photos, including frontispieces. Vol.I is "Reprinted, with corrections, October 1945". The other two volumes are first editions. Cloth has very light wear and slight bumping. The dust wrappers have light wear and fading on the spines but otherwise present very nicely. This incredible 3 volume set gives an authoratative and highly anecdotal history of the overseas service of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Vol.I: February 1940 to August 1943. Vol.II: September 1943 to August 1944. Vol.III: "the final surge forward" and the Axis surrender. Sir Peter Alexander Clutterbuck GCMG MC was a British diplomat who was high commissioner to Canada and India and ambassador to Ireland. The set has the presentation inscription hand lettered in each volume with each volume signed by the Honourable Brooke Claxton Minister of Defense. The inscription is dated September 30, 1949 Trenton Ont. A wonderful association copy presented on the occasion of the presentation of the Memorial Gates of the BCATP.
