9.5 x 6.5", vellum backed cloth, 198pp, minor cover wear else very good condition in splitting and chipped box. Tipped-in at rear is a copy of a 2p typed letter sent to Gordon Grand from James V. Stewart, dated March 1, 1939 in which he congratulates Grand on his "outstanding portrayal of a rare soul" (Redmond C. Stewart). He tells Grand that he was in the First Division with Stewart in Montabar, Germany and that Stewart taught him how to ride. Grand writes back (2p) thanking him for his letter and that he is sending it on to Mrs. Stewart. Letter signed twice. FIRST EDITION.
