Illustrated by Katherine F. Clarke. First edition, limited to 700 numbered copies signed by Ardis M. Walker and Katherine F. Clarke. Ardis M. Walker, a grandnephew of Joseph Reddeford Walker, the Mountain Man for whom Walker Pass is named, tells a panoramic story of the Kern River country and its historical evolution. Gray cloth binding, with pictorial black stamping. Some general minor browning along the extremities of the dust jacket; otherwise a near fine copy. Signed by Author.

Established in 1981, johnson rare books & archives is located at The Book Shop in downtown Covina, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles. The shop is open six days a week and houses an inventory of some 30,000 titles, ranging from the general second-hand to the truly antiquarian.
