About this Item

This Ranald MacDonald was no clown. He sailed the seas and conquered Japan, and the hearts of many in the late 1800's. Now he is all but forgotten but less so in the PNW, as he was born in Astoria. This book would be amazing without the incredible woodcuts of Klamm. And this copy is further enhanced by an inscription from the author in 1940, the year of publication. Includes some ephemera. Near fine in a near fine jacket, this book is full of history and adventure! Hardcover in brown mottled cloth with black stamped titling and decoration.
