About this Item

First trade edition, first printing; preceded only by the privately printed but truncated Bates edition. Signed by Rosser Reeves on the front free endpaper and inscribed "with affection" to Bobby Bevan, "in the hopes that he will give this book wide dissemination among his clients." Fine in a Near Fine clear plastic dust jacket, slightly rubbed and discolored and with a short tear to tail of spine. In the original slipcase, red paper over cardboard, gold title label to front, lightly rubbed and soiled. With publisher's prospectus laid in. Scarce in jacket and slip case. A seminal advertising book; Reeves was reportedly used as an inspiration for Don Draper's character in Mad Men. The recipient was likely Robert Bevan, a prominent figure in British advertising.
