Angeline Beloff (1879-1969) (illustrator). First Edition. ~ Orné de 8 gravures sur bois par Angeline Beloff ~ Charles Vildrac (1882-1971), de son vrai nom Charles Messager, était un des membres du groupe « L'Abbaye de Créteil » qu'il avait fondé avec son beau-frère Georges Duhamel. - Angeline Beloff, artiste russe émigrée à Paris en 1909, a connu cette même année le mexicain Diego Rivera, avec lequel elle s'est mariée deux ans après. Le mariage a duré jusqu'au retour définitif de Rivera au Mexique, en 1921. Malgré la promesse tenue de l'envoyer de l'argent pour qu'ils se réunissent au Mexique, Angelina n'est jamais arrivé à recevoir une seule lettre de lui. Après onze années de dur travail à Paris, elle a su assembler l'argent nécessaire pour chercher Diego au Mexique, mais celui-là, marié à nouveau deux fois, a feint de ne pas la reconnaître. Angelina Beloff est restée au Mexique travaillant comme artiste graveur et illustrateur et en donnant des classes de gravure. Elle est morte à 90 ans. ~ Édition originale. Edgar was an American Pulitzer Prize winning journalist known for his writing on international events, especially pre- WWII Nazi Germany. His wife Lilian was also a journalist and accomplished writer in her own right. Edgarâs brother was Paul Scott Mowrer, the editor of the Chicago Daily News, and also a Pulitizer Prize winning journalist, as well as Poet Laureate of New Hampshire. Ceci est l'examplaire unique numéro 1 sur Japon, signé par l'auteur et l'artiste, accompagné de 11 dessins originaux d'Angeline Beloff, dans une couverture rempliée (mais sans la double suite annoncée). Angeline Beloff (1879-1969) était d'origine russe et venait à Paris en 1909. Elle s'est mariée avec le peintre mexicain Diego Rivera en 1911. Il lui quittait en 1921 pour le Mexique. Malgré la promesse tenue de lui envoyer de l'argent pour qu'ils se réunissent aus Mexique, elle n'a jamais reçu un mot de lui. Après onze années de dur travail à Paris elle avait l'argent pour lui chercher au Mexique. Diego a feint de ne pas la reconnaître.
