From an Amazon reader review: Robert R. Twitchell was my grandfather. He wrote this story as he lived it. I have this book in my bedroom bookshelf; on the flyleaf is written "To Sara, my dear granddaughter. May you read and understand. In understanding, may you never have to go through what I did." My grandfather is gone now; he passed on from complications of Type I diabetes, but the lessons he learned from World War II and its aftermath can be passed on. I sincerely hope what he wrote on my book will someday come about. Reading this book will help.
