Signed Limited Edition, First Trade Edition, First Printing as indicated by "First Trade Edition" printed on copyright page. The first edition was a signed, limited first edition published by The Franklin Press. This book is the signed limited first trade edition issued by Alfred A. Knopf. A fine, signed limited hardcover copy, decorative cloth covered boards with sharp corners, black cloth covered spine with red and gold printing. Book is solid, spine is tight. Not ex-library, no previous owner markings, book plates, or remainder marks. Looks unread. Author signature only on limitations page in blue ink. This is copy #20 of 350 total copies. Number "20" handwritten on limitations page in black ink. No dust jacket, as issued, but included is acetate wrapper in which the book was issued. Original publisher black and red cardboard slipcase in fine condition. Has white sticker with the book number (20) printed on it affixed to the bottom of the spine of the slipcase.
