First edition. 18.5 cm. Original brown cloth backed charcoal paper boards. Slight wear to corners, scattered pencil underlining and margin notes. Inscribed presentation copy from Chapman, to "Rosalind with much love from Jack," dated May 10, 1909, and from the recipient, Rosalind Richards, a "cousin-in-law" of Chapman's, to Richard B. Hovey, Chapman's biographer, "with all happy wishes for the fulfillment of his gallant task." One of Chapman's childrens plays designed to inculcate morality and to tell immutable truths. According to Melvin Bernstein, it "is ground-up Hamlet, Lear, and Romeo and Juliet.".
