Add to basketInscribed early printing of this crackling cocktail classic, with delightful art-deco style illustrations. Full of vivacity and vigor, this book from "the king of cocktail shakers" perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the era. Amid the hundreds cocktail recipes are brightly colored vignettes of flappers, Monopoly men, artists, and other revellers. The scattered about commentary is dripping with bons mots, from the Third Rail Cocktail that is "better than 11,000 volts," to the Jabberwock Cocktail, which will "make you gyre and gimble in the wabe until you brillig all right, all right." An endlessly entertaining (and useful) read a fitting artifact of the Jazz Age with a convivial inscription. 7.25'' x 4.5''. Original orange cloth, lettered in black to front board and spine. Color pictorial endpapers. Illustrated throughout in color. 238 pages. Lacking dust jacket. Inscribed by Craddock to print history page ("Here's How! / Harry Craddock / January 14/1937) and again to preface page (To Mr. A. G F / with the best wishes of the author/ sincerely hoping you will deliver much pleasure in Reading and Drinking this book, / H. Craddock"). Some wear and soil to cloth and edges of text block, minor toning to spine, light scattered foxing to text. Illustrations bright.
