HC - Full leather; gentle rubbing/scuffing to boards. FFEP Signed by Simon Backus, amongst a few others. One of the first dates handwritten on this page (which is also torn at the bottom is 1837. The first name or supposed owner is "Simon Backus", who I have found on ancestry.com (1699-1746) a "noted minister during the Revolutionary War". It appears to be on hand laid paper and one of the photos shows the indentation from the type set. Attached are photos. There is foxing to pages. 158pp. 16MO. RARE. SCARCE. Only a few copies exist, mainly in libraries.
