The book is in nice condition with faint marks to covers, old owner crimp-mark on title page (not ex-library. from the single-owner collection of C. Clay Jones with his crimp mark) otherwise no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, solid binding, no cover fading. The original dust jacket has slight fading to the red lettering on spine, no tears, no loss, minor wear at spine ends, original printed price still present on front flap corner. The hand-signed Messner portrait card is in fine condition. It shows a b/w portrait of Messner on the front and has text on the other side promoting his book on Welzenbach (text in German). The book measures 235mm tall x 154mm, and has 254 pages, 37 color & 42 b/w photos, 6 maps, historical lists. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
