Very Good in a Fair to Good dust jacket. First edition, first printing (LOC 68-27139, "First Edition" stated). Signed by Lowell Thomas in green ink on the front free endpaper. Boards clean and square, hinges tight, text block bright with no foxing. Dust jacket is the weak point: chipped and torn spine ends with loss, vertical cracking to the spine panel, edge wear, light soiling to the front flap; jacket is complete but shows genuine handling wear. Sixteen dramatic first-flight accounts illustrated with over 40 period photographs, covering Bleriot, Lindbergh, Byrd, Doolittle, Alcock and Brown, and the authors' own 1965 round-the-world polar flight.
