First Edition / First Printing. Hardcover. Signed & Inscribed by both Fields and Chodorov in 1941. This comedic play was based on Ruth McKenney?s popular short stories, following the misadventures of two sisters. A Broadway success, it was later adapted into two notable films: the 1942 screwball comedy starring Rosalind Russell and Janet Blair, and the 1955 musical version featuring Betty Garrett and Janet Leigh. 8vo, cloth. PLEASE NOTE that all our First Editions are also First Printings, unless we specifically note otherwise. All our dust jackets are protected in clear mylar covers. Near fine in a very good price-clipped dust jacket, with darkening along the spine, minor nicks, and slight loss at the spine ends. Several internal tape repairs, though the jacket presents well overall.
