First edition. 93 pp. Signed by the poet, and with his distinctive chop in blue ink. The poet's first book (preceded by a broadside) a collection of sonnets, mostly iambic, mostly in an abcabcdefdefgg rhyme scheme. Like Berryman before him he modernizes the sonnet, not by turning it into free verse, but rather with fresh subjects, wording and humor. A wonderful debut by the editor of Contemporary Poetry Review, and himself a well-known antiquarian bookseller. For fans of the late great Tom Disch and of A. E. Stallings. As New in glossy wrappers.
