First edition hardback; illustrated, frontispiece & 4 further plates as called for, [4] + 72 + 24 + 24 + 12 pages. The binding is worn and dull and the spine is peeling, there is a paper label on the front board, the hinges are sound and all is well bound together. The endpaper have some foxing the free endpaper is signed 'From the compiler H. W. Ball with his complts'. The plates have some foxing and this has affected the adjacent pages, the rest of the text is clean.
