Add to basketMacdonald and James. London. 8vo. 322 pages. 1978. First Edition, First Printing. SIGNED by Ken Follett directly to the title page. Signed in person. Ken Follett's first book. After a small print run, it was later released in the USA under a new title matching that of the film adaptation: EYE OF THE NEEDLE. The original 1st issue DJ was issued with a price for UK editions and without a price for those early printings to be exported. Both DJs are accepted as 1st issue. An Edgar Award winner. As for condition, sharp corners with light rubbing to tips. Minor shelfwear to edges at foot/crown. Light rubbing to gold title on backstrip. Black cloth is clean and nice. To be hypercritical, there is the most faint, faint outline of 1/3 of a ring to front panel. visible only with the right tilt in the right lighting. Really, this need not even be disclosed. Pages lay tight. A couple of tiny spots of foxing (faint) to top page edges. Rear panel shows most faint white scuff or fingerprint (barely). As for the DJ, light rubbing to covers. 4.50 price intact on DJ flap. DJ would grade fine if not for some rubbing to exterior. A tiny instance of edge roll which is common to this DJ. These flaws are very much overstated. A very nice copy in a rare DJ with the price intact on the flap. A signed 1st edition, 1st printing in an original 1st issue DJ. NF/NF.
