Doubleday. Garden City, New York. 1975. 409 pages. SIGNED, inscribed and dated by Stephen King directly to FFEP. To ___- Nice to see you again! Stephen King 10/19/89. First Book Club edition in same design as the First printing with red paper boards quarterbound in black with gilt titles on backstrip. No mention of any King titles other than Carrie and Salem's Lot on DJ. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are strong. Gilt is bright and unrubbed. Red paper boards are bright and clean. Faint shallow stain along bottom panel edges. Light shelf-rub at base on black binding. Pages lay tight and undisturbed; seemingly unread. FFEP corner has previous owners names neatly written in ink. DJ in same design and artwork as the first printing. DJ is about fine; only flaw is some sunning to red hue on the title on the spine. An early copy of Stephen King's second title and arguably most difficult title. Considering Stephen King no longer signs backlog, a signed copy of his most difficult title speaks for itself. A solid, bright VG or better copy in near fine DJ. Signed, dated and inscribed by Stephen King.
