Scarce, signed first edition of this early novel from Donald Wollheim, part of the iconic Winston Science Fiction Series for young readers. 8vo, 203pp. Signed by Wollheim on the ffep. Publisher's blue buckram, spine lettered in darker blue in illustrated jacket by James Heugh. First state jacket with 31 titles listed on rear. Boards a bit stained and rubbed, former owner's label to ffep, pin-sized hole to last 25 pages or so. Price-clipped jacket with old tape repairs to underside, chipped and rubbed along folds and spine ends. Very good. Seller Inventory # 6388
