272p oblong octavo, illustrated. Front and rear wrapper creased, otherwise a very good copy in printed wraps. A charming volumes of self-portraits approximately 630, of authors and celebrities that came in contact with Britton at the Strand Book store or his later self styled establishment farther uptown with his partner Jeanette Watson. Inscribed by Britton with a doodle "For Heather for her new book & her kindness & her self portrait with thanks Burt".
