True first British printing with original unclipped jacket (10s 6d). Jacket marked as 'Recommended by The Book Society' to front inner flap of jacket. Signed by the author in black ink directly to front end-paper without dedication. Jacket has minor patchy edge/shelf wear, a few small marks, minor fading to spine, a few very small (approx. 4mms) tears, very small patchy loss (mainly to head of spine/a couple of corners), minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine and to corners and the odd small crease/rub to edges. Boards are near fine with a hint of pushing to corners and very minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages are a little tanned.
